Stupid non-English speaking country

More reasons movie-watching outside of the US sucks. I had to watch Death Proof, the first part of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez' Grindhouse separately from Planet Terror. Sucks.

Apparently distributors decided to split the movie (Grindhouse) into two separate movies because most non-English speaking countries might not understand the tradition behind the "grindhouse" double-feature and the underlying concept might be lost.

Planet Terror is only coming to Singapore in August. Arrggh! But besides Paris, Je T'aime, Death Proof is the best movie I've seen this year. Tarantino rocks and definitely did not disappoint. More to come in later posts!

Didn't Death Proof screen separately at Cannes this year as well though? I heard Tarantino released an expanded version of his half of the movie at the festival.

But yeah, that sucks that they split it up because people might have got confused. You'd think Singaporeans would be more savvy?
