Arrrgghhh - I've been so out of it these past two weeks, no thanks to work work work. Oh well, better late than never ya? So here's my roll up of all all the super cool movie news that I've been missing.

Sweeney Todd poster has been released! PS: If you don't know what/who this movie is about, tsk tsk. Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, dark movie scheduled for release on Christmas Day in the US about a barber/serial killer musical. 'Nuff said.

On other Depp news, apparently he's signed on to be a vampire in a WB feature film based on a 60s shock-soap called Dark Shadows. Interesting...hmm. Depp as a vampire, yummy. Read more.

New teaser for The Dark Knight is out! Whoooo! Not much to see, but it's sooo good to hear Christian Bale and Michael Caine's voices. AND, guess who sneaks in at the end? The one and only Heath Ledger as the utterly insane Joker. Watch The Dark Knight trailer.

More great news on The Dark Knight, Katie Holmes is not in the casting credits according to IMDB, good to hear that they finally got rid of that loser face - she sooo didn't belong in the movie. If you ask me, Holmes & Cruise, like two peas in a pod. Anyway, fans of Nolan and Batman Begins will be ecstatic to hear that the gang is back in The Dark Knight - returning with Bale and Caine are the familiar faces of Gary Oldman (who I just saw in Harry Potter & Order of Phoenix), Cilian Murphy (how are sneaking him back in?) and Morgan Freeman. Besides Ledger, joining them for the new movie are Maggie Gyllenhall (yup, that's her in the photo up close and personal with Ledger), Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent and lesser known actors like William Fitchtner (from Prison Break) and an all-grown-up-utterly-not-cute Anthony Michael Hall - you have to be a child of the 80s to know Hall. If his name sounds familiar, it's because he was in Sixteen Candles and Breakfast Club. Check out the complete cast list for Dark Knight, which includes this Singaporean named Chin Han who's annoying the hell out me. He claims that he has a speaking role in the film, ladeeda, this me-too attitude drives me insane. Love that IMDB has him listed as "rumoured" under the cast list.

Now if they'll just add in Ewan McGregor, Jonathan Rhys Meyer, Gael Garcia Bernal and my new fave James McAvoy - this would be film with my dream cast - minus Hall and the Prison Break dude. Rumor has it that Edward Norton turned down the role of Harvey Dent to play Bruce Banner in ANOTHER Incredible Hulk movie.

Trailer for Tony Leung's new movie is out. *Swoon swoon* He may have aged, but Leung is still the epitome of what all Asian males should aim to be. Sigh. Check out the trailer of Lust, Caution by Ang Lee.

And for Wong Kar-Wai fans, there are 3 trailers for My Blueberry Nights, one for Jude Law/Norah Jones fans, and another for fans for Rachel Weisz and Natalie Portman, who by the way, plays a badly bleached blonde gambler. Not sure if the trailers are official, but the quality is not great.

And for short updates:
  • Not a fan, but oh well. Saw IV is announced. Trailer was so gory they couldn't show it at ComicCon. Received NC-17 rating, but will probably be recut to get a R rating so more wannabes can go watch it. Check out the Saw IV poster and read more about the gory Saw IV trailer.
  • JJ Abrams is making a Star Trek film, still fresh, probably be another year and half before we hear anything.
