Slumdog Millionaire Trailer

I love movies set in India and a huge sucker for movies that have destiny as a theme. So when I heard about Danny Boyle's new movie, Slummdog Millionaire, I was SUPER excited. And this, was even before I saw the trailer. I really liked Boyle's previous work (yes, pre-28 Days Later) such as "A Life Less Ordinary" and "Trainspotting" and 28 Days Later has to be the only zombie film that I actually enjoyed.

Anyway, enough of my blabbering - check out the US trailer for Slumdog Millionaire. And The Tings Tings on totally on my must-listen list right now, I'm totally into how the song is being used, feels a lot like Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette.

And if you want to see how to screw up a trailer, check out the international trailer for Slumdog Millionaire as posted by /Film. Looks completely lame.

New Benjamin Button trailer

New trailer from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - focuses a lot more on the relationship between Benjamin (Brad Pitt) and Daisy (Cate Blanchett), rather than just Benjamin growing younger. I prefer the first trailer, but this could just be me :)

Check out the trailer in high-def here.

David Fincher is one of those directors that I can't decide whether I like him or not - Fight Club is one of my all time favorite movies, Se7en was pretty cool when it first came out (it's very difficult for me not to like a film with Brad Pitt & Kevin Spacey) but Panic Room was awful and Zodiac was super draggy.

Can't wait to catch Benjamin Button, especially after the slew of bad, bad movies that I've seen this year. Sucks that it opens in the US on Christmas Day, but I'll only get to watch it in February 2009 - two freakin' months later! That's what you get for living in Singapore. Ugh.

Gmail themes - woohoo!

I love my Gmail theme! It's sooooo cute. I don't have snag-it on my Mac so only managed to grab one part of the screen.

I've always preferred the new Yahoo Mail look but it was hella slow and not to mention, spam heaven. But I made the decision to move everything from Yahoo to Gmail more than a year ago, and even then, Gmail had always been utilitarian because it looked waaaay to boring and plain.

But not anymore! Love my ninja theme on Gmail - so cute, but still not pink and pastel (gag). Google, more themes please! And keep up the good work. Wooohooo!

President Barack Obama

It's been a long while since I've blogged, but the occasion calls for it. If you haven't heard Obama's victory speech, make sure you do. I've never heard someone sum it up so well - not just of his promises as President, but of the ideals of his country, what it means to the rest of the world and honestly, why I feel a strange sense of sometimes unexplainable belonging to a country that I wasn't born into.

"Tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope." -- President Barack Obama, 4 November 2008
